Gallery Term 1 2023

Explore the vibrant tapestry of activities that have unfolded at St. Mel's College from September 2023 to the present day. Our journey begins with the outstanding achievements of our students. Gavin Farrelly, a shining example of excellence, secured a remarkable Leaving Certificate, while Deasún Kelly earned the prestigious JP McManus Scholarship.

Our Transition Year students embarked on a series of exciting outings, including visits to BaySports in Athlone, the exhilarating Ploughing Championships, and the Longford Sports Partnership Expo. They also exhibited their culinary prowess and embraced the art of Sign Language in diverse workshops throughout the year.

The spiritual and communal spirit of our institution was celebrated during the Opening Mass for the Year, graced by the presence of Bishop Paul. Furthermore, our Transition Year and 5th Year students took up a noble cause, participating in the Mizen to Malin Cycle to support Cians Kennels, exemplifying our commitment to community engagement.

In the world of academia, our Ag Science group delved into agricultural insights with a fascinating trip to the local mart, gaining hands-on experience and knowledge. Our Leaving Certificate students, on the other hand, had the opportunity to witness the enchanting production of Hamlet, embracing the world of culture and the arts.

At St. Mel's College, we also cherish the importance of a well-rounded student life, offering a wide array of lunchtime clubs to cater to various interests and passions.
