2026 First Year IMTA Maths Competition
Well done to our 1st year students who recently competed in the 2026 First Year IMTA Maths Competition, with over 18,500 entries from 280 schools across Ireland. A huge congratulations to Riley Malone Fitzgerald, who was awarded an IMTA medal for achieving an outstanding score of 95% — an exceptional achievement in a highly competitive national contest.

Connacht School Cross Country Regional finals
Well done to all students who participated in the Connacht School Cross Country Regional finals today in Loughrea. We had a junior team, an intermediate team, and two senior individuals compete. All of the boys who ran today put in a great effort on mucky terrain and in bitterly cold conditions. Special mention to Conor Fox (Junior), Rian McCafffrey (Intermediate), and Michael Gacquin (Senior), who finished in the top 15, qualifying them for the All-Ireland finals in the coming weeks. Hard luck to Luke Columb and Dawid Zybel, who narrowly missed out on qualifying for the All Ireland. A very enjoyable day was had by all. Connacht Athletics
Under 17 Soccer
Congratulations to our U17 soccer team who beat Edenderry in the West Leinster semi-final today in what was a very exciting game. The match ended 5-5 at the full time whistle. Goal scorers were Isiah Mensah, Conor Shannon, Kiril Minkov (2) and Evidence Ikechukwu. The winning team was decided by a penalty shoot out with St. Mel’s just coming out on top 5-4. The lads put in serious effort until the very end and are looking forward to the West Leinster final in the coming weeks. Well done to the team and their coaches.
Barista Training Day TY
Our Transition Year students enjoyed a great Barista session yesterday with Daniel, from “The Grind”. Students learned the basics of making coffee, working as a team, and building customer service skills. It was a fun, hands on experience and a brilliant opportunity for students to try something new. Students and teachers were full of beans after the day. Thank you Daniel
