Poetry slam in Longford Library

Last Tuesday, first year students attended a poetry slam in Longford library, with Australian poet Tracey O’Callaghan. Tracey performed poetry from her new collection ‘Brains, Balls and Banter’. The themes explored in her poetry were very diverse and relatable to our students. Some of the students even took part in an ‘improv’ performance, where 5 students stood and gave a random word to Tracey which she performed a poem on the spot with the chosen word! Thank you to Longford Library, and councillor Seamus Butler who also attended the poetry slam.

Robotics & Art
The robotics club and art club have linked up to collaborate in making display boards for the robotics competitions which will take place in the coming weeks. Students from the art club and robotics club brainstormed ideas, with the students from robotics informing the art student of their robots and what the project entailed. Both clubs are sharing creativity and innovation, with the display boards coming together nicely. Looking forward to seeing the end result. Thank you to Mr. Counihan, Mr. Rabbitt (Robotics), Ms. Connell and Ms. McGuinness (Art) for working with the lads.
