Personal Wellbeing with Mr. Quinn

Well done to Mr. Quinn and Mr. Garvey’s wellbeing classes for their outstanding efforts! This term, they are diving deeper into their personal wellbeing plans, with a specific focus on healthy eating.

This morning, Mr. Quinn delivered an insightful presentation on how to prepare nutritious breakfast and lunch options, covering all essential elements of cooking. Following this, the boys will be grouped to brainstorm and present their own healthy breakfast and lunch ideas.

Keep up the great work, everyone!

Under 15 Soccer

Today the U15 soccer team were unfortunate in the league quarter final, losing to Athlone Community College on a scoreline of 3-2 in the last couple of minutes. All of the boys left their heart and soul on the pitch and played to an exceptional standard. Thanks to all the parents who supported our boys throughout the season.

All Ireland Robotics

On Wednesday St Mel's College Robotics Club travelled to Cork to compete in the All Ireland VEX Robotics tournament.
Leaving the college at 5am the lads put in a huge effort all day, being competitive in all events. So much was learned both on and off the robotics field, the lads' enthusiasm and interaction with those around them was a credit to the college, as always. St Mel's were proud to share this journey over the past few months with our great friends in Mean Scoil Mhuire. The encouragement and support these girls and boys show each other is further evidence that in Longford we have some of the best young people around. Here are some snaps of the event. Aemula Virtus

Under 17 League Final

Our U17 soccer team played in the West Leinster league final today against Coláiste Mhuire, Mullingar.
Unfortunately, we were defeated by a very strong Mullingar side who took the lead early in the first half and went on to control the game from then on.
Well done to our players on reaching the final, we had four great victories along the way. Thanks to all the players for their positive attitude in training and matches, and their commitment since September.
