Sports teams in Competition this week

In spite of the 3rd and 6th year exams this week there was plenty of sport in the college.

The u-16 football team traveled to Kiltoom to play Marist,Athlone in the 1st round of the championship. In a very tough game the team came out winners on a scoreline of 5-12 to 2-14. Well done to the team and coaches Mr Gacquin and Mr Rooney.

The Senior football team bowed out of the senior championship when they were defeated by St Pats Navan under lights in Killoe on a scoreline of 3-13 to 0-11. Thanks to Mr Cannon and Mr Quinn for all their work with the panel this year.

The second year football team qualified for the North Leinster Final with a solid win over Marist Athlone on a scoreline of 6-12 to 0-8 . The game was played in Pearse Park and the team now play St Pats Navan in the final. Well done to Mr Garvey and Miss Cassidy.

The U17 Soccer team started their campaign with a 0-0 draw with St Marys Edenderry and the senior soccer team will play Birr at home next week.Mr O Connell is eyeing silverware this year.

The senior basketball team were defeated in the 1/4 final by a strong Portarlington team away last week. Thanks to Mr McWeeney for his work with the team.
