The 1st Years were involved in the Leinster blitz in Abbotstown this week and they had easy wins over Scoil Dara Kilcock and Dunboyne Community school but were unlucky to lose by 3 points to St Marys,Drogheda. The TY students started a six week programme with Longford Sports Partnership and Waterways Ireland in Clondra Harbour. This is an excellent opportunity for our students and they thoroughly enjoyed it. the group were accompanied by TY Coordinator Miss Dempsey.

Past Pupil Darragh Greene won two National Senior titles at the National Aquatic centre in Dublin this week. Fishing Club on their Easter Fishing Trip

Mr Galvin headed off to Mohill on a fishing trip with the school fishing club over the Easter break. The rain fell but the spirits were high and the group were rewarded with a good haul of fish.

St Mel’s Students on Claire Byrne Live

Students from TY and 5th Year were members of the audience on the Claire Byrne Live programme on Monday night and they got the chance to experience current affairs in action. Thanks to Mr Clyne who accompanied the group to RTE and we hope they gained great experience from their trip.
