Fishing Club 2017

The St.Mel’s College fishing club had a wonderful day fishing at the famous hot stretch in Lanesborough

The 24 lads caught a range of fish such as Bream, Rudd, Roach, perch, and pike with everyone catching loads! The group was accompanied by Mr. Galvin and Mr. Clyne.
The event was kindly sponsored by Waterways Ireland and Inland Fisheries Ireland. This outing, like the others, educates the boys not just in fishing but also about environmental issues, biodiversity and leaving no trace. Water safety is of big importance and all anglers were wearing their new buoyancy aids.
