Cycle Against Suicide and Irish TV Visit

111We are all TV stars!! Last Thursday Irish TV (a SKY channel) came to the school to film for their programme “Longford Matters”. Their focus was Cycle for Suicide and students were thrilled to see so many Scoil Mhuire girls come to the school to be part of the filming. There was a great sense of excitement as we promoted the cycle and the awareness campaign around mindfulness and talking about our problems. It certainly was a great taster for April 30 and May 1st when Jim and all the Cyclists will be in Longford. Lisa Brady and the chamber of Commerce are currently looking for host families to open their doors to the cyclists. All host families in this Homestay programme are asked for is to provide a meal and a bed for one night. There will be a free draw for families who provide Homestay accommodation. Interested people with beds to spare should contact Lisa Brady in the Chamber office.
